Valuing the Power of Diversity

In order to foster a diverse environment, employees must be aware of how differences can positively affect outcomes or become areas of constant concern. This course teaches you the importance of diversity in the workplace, helps you evaluate your own team culture, and facilitates the development of communication tools needed to produce a more effective environment. (1 Day)

 

Cultural Competency

In this course participants will work together to create a cultural competency profile for themselves and empower individuals to practice acceptance within their environment. They will leave this course with more understanding of others’ cultures and traditions, while also learning positive techniques to generate awareness within their organization. (1 Day) 

 

The Multi-Generational Workplace

Through this course you will gain a better understanding of the four generations that make up the current workforce - Veterans, Baby Boomers, and Generations X and Y - and how their unique experiences and expectations impact their view of the workplace. You will also learn techniques that foster respectful communication and positive interaction with all groups. (1/2 Day) 

 

Hiring a Diverse Workforce

Hiring a diverse workforce ensures an environment where every individual’s contributions are valued and allows companies to more easily expand into new markets with a diverse client base. This course focuses on how to recruit a diverse team and foster an inclusive environment that values individual differences. (1 Day) 

 

Diversity Awareness & Training

Using a case study approach, this course offers straightforward, easy-to-follow process designed to improve the way you make business decisions or any decision that can help you reach your goal. Our decisions and choices shape our professional and personal lives. Sadly, decision-making is seldom taught as a skill in its own right. This course will present a clear process and user-friendly techniques for making smart choices. (1/2 Day)

 

Preventing Workplace Harassment

In this program, you'll learn the answers to all of your questions about dealing with harassment in the workplace. You'll read about real cases, learn some tips and tools for dealing with situations that may come up, and implement steps to prevent the occurrence of harassment. (1/2 Day) 

 

Sexual Harassment

Organizations of every type and size are concerned about the dangers of sexual harassment – and other forms of harassment – in the workplace. Employers are responsible for maintaining a workplace free of sexual harassment, and they may be liable for the unlawful conduct of their supervisory employees, employees, and, in certain circumstances, even non-employees who sexually harass employees at work. This program is designed to help you understand this important topic and how you can improve your organization’s efforts to prevent workplace harassment. (1/2 Day) 

 

How to Manage Generation X Employees

Today’s workforce consists of four distinct generations. Each brings its own set of behaviors, demands, expectations and values. Additionally, each generation brings its own set of stereotypes and myths. In today's age-diverse workplace, one management style does not work for all. Gen X employees want, and expect, their employers to hear what they have to say. They have an interest in understanding the “big picture” for the company and how this influences their employment and growth. They are less likely to accept a “because I said so” attitude from a supervisor. This course will help you to understand what motivates your GenX employee. (1/2 Day)
